This is for all those people who are loving the quiet and solitude of the great COVID-19 lock-down of 2020. Don't be ashamed. Be loud. Be proud. But do it 2 metres away from anyone else.
No more inane chit-chat with people you meet
No longer rude to cross over the street
No feeling like you have to be social
Just to make people think that you're normal
It's fine to spend days in your dressing gown
That's why I'm lovin' the lock-down
Not having to find elaborate excuses
For avoiding invites and becoming recluses
Not getting up 'til the crack of noon
Not having to be somewhere really quite soon
Once busy places are like a ghost town
That's why I'm lovin' the lock-down
No more hunting for bargains in the shops with my wife
No pretending I'm having the time of my life
No sifting through sales racks with their money off tags
When you know you're just there to carry the bags
No trying to stifle a yawn or a frown
That's why I'm lovin' the lock-down
No gangs of youths gathered on street corners
No drunks spill from pubs just after last orders
Stuffing their faces with take-away noodles.
Yelling "Mate! What the hell's that?" At my little black poodle
I'm king of the empty streets, pass me my crown
That's why I'm lovin' the lock-down
No longer rude to cross over the street
No feeling like you have to be social
Just to make people think that you're normal
It's fine to spend days in your dressing gown
That's why I'm lovin' the lock-down
